Meeting schedule is typically:

This is only a tentative list and the programs are subject to change. However, we hope this helps when planning your ‘art’ calendar.

About Our Meetings
Daytime meetings are held once a month. Each meeting features a demonstration of new and unique techniques with time for questions and answers. Refreshments are served and guests are welcome. The general meeting is held at the Opportunity House in Hendersonville. Meetings begin at 1:30pm, usually on the second Sunday of each month.
January 14 - Miniature Art Challenge- drop off on Jan 12. Fee is $5 per painting. Miniature challenge is limited to paintings no larger than 12 x 12 either framed or unframed. Al asked that every-one bring their miniatures AND another painting for the regular gallery space. We are allowing a third painting this month at no charge.
February 11 - Presentation and demo by Edward Morris, well known and local oil painter. He will demonstrate the use of a limited palette to achieve color harmony in a landscape painting, all while providing insight and tips for making art. Morris is a member of the Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Asheville Urban Landscape Painters, and a signature member of the WNC Plein Air Painters.
March 11 - Come see Simone Wood's watercolor demonstration, and her love of painting birds. Though her medium is traditional watercolor on paper, Simone's loose wet in wet technique enables her to reveal subjects in a fluid, impressionistic style. "My love of birds and background in floral designer inspire my compositions which integrate a minimalist combination of both subjects. Free flowing splatters of radiant color gives my birds a sense of movement and flight."
April 8 - Sandra Moore will do a watercolor demonstration at the Sunday, April 8, meeting of the Art League of Henderson County. She will be painting a timely subject - dogwood blossoms against an out of focus background, all while reviewing her inspiration for the painting and defining the 5 basic painting steps used in its creation.
May 20 - Beverly Kies is a regionally recognized pastel artist residing in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Although she has worked in other mediums, pastels are what she loves. “The immediacy of pastels and the layering of colors works well for me.” Some people associate pastels with muted colors, but in Beverly’s paintings the colors explode off the paper. See some samples of her work here:
