History and Mission
The Art League of Henderson County was founded in 1962 and is one of the oldest established art organizations in North Carolina. Membership is not limited to Henderson County. Artists and art lovers from elsewhere are welcome to join.
The League has been incorporated as a tax-exempt, not-for-profit corporation since 1979. Its purpose is the promotion, development, and enjoyment of the visual arts. Today we carry out this mission with public programs, arts education courses and workshops, exhibits and gits in support of art teachers in the schools for classroom supplies and student awards and recognition.
The Art League holds monthly Art Programs at our new location Trinity Presbyterian Church, 900 Blythe St., Hendersonville. The public is invited to come meet artists of all stripes and to learn in the process. Programs begin at 1:30 p.m. with a short time for socializing, followed by announcements, and the program beginning around 2:15. Guests are welcome.
